Email Marketing: Transcend Welcome Series

The Opportunity

After an audience analysis, I found that our email audience was particularly engaged in the months immediately after they signed up. I launched a three email welcome series to both capture that energy and increase engagement among new contacts.

The Outcome

  • This email series has an overall open rate of 71% and has welcomed more than 2,000 new contacts into our email marketing program
  • Contacts receiving the new welcome series sustained a 66% average open rate for four months after joining the list

Email Marketing: American Migraine Foundation

The Opportunity

A large percentage of the American Migraine Foundation’s contacts were considered unengaged, which was dragging down the overall open rate of the organization’s emails. We removed the unengaged contacts from the list, and I spearheaded the development of a drip email campaign focused on winning back those contacts.

The Outcome

  • Won back nearly 2,000 contacts (more than 10% of the total unengaged contacts) in the first month of the campaign
  • Removing inactive contacts also improved open and clicks rates for other organization emails

Advocacy Campaign: Healthy Schools Campaign

The Opportunity

The state of Illinois was considering a bill to weaken the physical education requirements in schools, so we developed an advocacy campaign to get Illinois residents to write letters to their elected officials. I developed the content and overall strategy for this landing page.

From our policy work, we knew some elected officials were more likely to be swayed on this issue, so I segmented our audience by ZIP code into two segments and sent two different messages and created two different editable letters for elected officials.

The Outcome

  • More than 1,000 people submitted letters
  • 30% conversion rate for visitors from Illinois
